Atherton Herberton Historic Railway
Peckett Steam Train Rides – Welcome to our fully restored 1905 Peckett Steam Locomotive along with its also fully restored 1913 wooden passenger carriage, running from Herberton Station to the Historic Village Herberton on selected weekends.
The Railway is a not for profit organisation formed , run and managed by a group of passionate volunteers who are dedicated to bringing our 113 year old railway history to life for the benefit of the Tableland community and visitors.

Spicks’N’Wiz Music Trivia Night
Get ready for a night of laughs, great tunes, and friendly competition at Spicks’N’Wiz, Herberton’s ultimate music trivia night! Brought to you by the HCIA, this event promises to test your musical knowledge with fun and interactive trivia rounds.
Whether you’re a chart-topping music buff or just love a good beat, join us for an evening of great food, fantastic company, and plenty of prizes. Dinner starts at 6:30 PM and Trivia Starts: 7:30 PM at the Royal Hotel

Pioneer Weekend
Olden day Australia comes alive as our pioneers climb out of the history books at the Historic Village Herberton for one weekend a year. See experts in their field demonstrate blacksmithing, wood chopping, tin panning, small engines, and more.
With lots of fun entertainment for the children, great local entertainment, and train rides for the family, there is so much to see and do over the two-day event. Don’t forget to dress up with Fashions on the Field prizes for the best-dressed kids and adults.

The Far North Heritage Expo
The Expo is a celebration of local history and cultural heritage, showcasing the achievements and dedication of historical societies and museums in preserving and promoting history. The event includes individual museum displays, guest speakers, workshops, antiques appraisals and guided tours of the Herberton Mining Museum and the Great Northern mine site..

Herberton Flower Show
The Herberton Flower Show is one of the longest continuously running Flower Shows in Australia!
It draws visitors from all over Australia… yes there are nomads who make sure they are in Herberton for the first weekend in September every year.

Jacaranda Festival Herberton
A family fun weekend (Saturday is the main day with Grace Street closed) showcasing the historic mining town of Herberton. Family fun activities, local entertainment and community groups, markets & food stalls, vintage displays, Railway and Mining Museums and steam train rides.

Sunset Stories at the Herberton Cemetery
Be entertained and enthralled during the “Ghostly Walks” as a cast of characters in period dress recount with sensitivity and wit, true stories of adventure, tragedy and hardship.
Wear good walking shoes, bring a coat and a torch.

Herberton New Years Eve Street Party
