The Herberton Twilight Christmas Markets
The main street of Herberton comes alive with markets, music, food and lots of stalls! Santa makes a grand entrance in the local Fire Engine. Get a photo with Santa and if your lucky with his Donkeys too!
You might even catch a spectacular sunset on the way home!

Herberton New Years Eve Street Party
Dont wear yourself out over Christmas as this event is worth waiting the whole year for! The Main street of Herberton is closed off and revellers from near and far kick up their heels to live music, food and of course a New Years Eve drink or two! See the New Year in with some Herberton Hospitality!

Atherton Herberton Historic Railway
Peckett Steam Train Rides – Welcome to our fully restored 1905 Peckett Steam Locomotive along with its also fully restored 1913 wooden passenger carriage, running from Herberton Station to the Historic Village Herberton on selected weekends.

Pioneer Weekend
Olden day Australia comes alive as our pioneers climb out of the history books at the Historic Village Herberton for one weekend a year. See experts in their field demonstrate blacksmithing, wood chopping, tin panning, small engines, and more. With lots of fun entertainment for the children, great local entertainment, and train rides for the family, there is so much to see and do over the two-day event. Don’t forget to dress up with Fashions on the Field prizes for the best-dressed kids and adults.

Jacaranda Festival Herberton
A family fun weekend (Saturday is the main day with Grace Street closed) showcasing the historic mining town of Herberton. Family fun activities, local entertainment and community groups, markets & food stalls, vintage displays, Railway and Mining Museums and steam train rides. Herberton Pocket Film Festival
Yes it’s back! Enter your Short Films of 3-7 minutes in length, they can be shot on a smartphone and the best of those entries will be shown at a festival of short films in Herberton to coincide with the Jacaranda Festival. Click here for more.

Sunset Stories at the Herberton Cemetery
Be entertained and enthralled during the “Ghostly Walks” as a cast of characters in period dress recount with sensitivity and wit, true stories of adventure, tragedy and hardship.
